SAP 6 - Clean Flow
SDG 6
Clean Water and Sanitation
Clean Flow is a community-focused initiative of Sustainable Agenda Promotion (SAP 17) dedicated to promoting access to safe water, improved sanitation and healthy hygiene practices. Water is essential to life, health, education, livelihoods and community development, yet many communities continue to face challenges related to water access, sanitation facilities, hygiene awareness and responsible water management.
The initiative seeks to help communities understand that clean water and sanitation are not only basic needs but important foundations for healthier, more productive and sustainable communities. Through education, community action, partnerships and practical interventions, Clean Flow encourages individuals and communities to become active participants in protecting and improving their water resources.
From Awareness to Community Action
Clean Flow is designed to move beyond simply talking about water challenges. It encourages people to learn, participate and take action within their homes, schools, workplaces and communities. Through workshops, awareness campaigns, community activities, educational materials, partnerships and local initiatives, participants can learn how water and sanitation challenges affect development and explore practical ways to contribute to solutions.
The initiative can also provide opportunities for young people and community members to participate in water research, environmental activities, sanitation campaigns, innovation, advocacy and community projects.
Key Areas of Action
Safe Water Awareness
Promoting knowledge about safe water sources, water handling, storage and responsible use, while helping communities understand the importance of protecting water from contamination.
Hygiene Education
Conducting practical hygiene education and awareness campaigns covering hand hygiene, household cleanliness, personal hygiene and other practices that can help reduce preventable health risks.
Community Sanitation
Encouraging communities to improve sanitation practices, reduce environmental pollution and participate in activities that create cleaner and healthier living environments.
Water Conservation
Promoting responsible water use, conservation awareness and community practices that help protect water resources for present and future generations.
Water-Access Partnerships
Working with communities, institutions, organizations, professionals and development partners to identify water-related challenges and support practical approaches toward improved access to safe water and sanitation.
Our Approach
LEARN → UNDERSTAND → PRACTICE HYGIENE → PROTECT WATER → CONSERVE → IMPROVE SANITATION → TAKE COMMUNITY ACTION
Our Goal
Clean Flow seeks to contribute to communities where people are better informed about water, sanitation and hygiene; where water resources are respected and responsibly managed; and where communities, institutions and partners work together to improve access to safe water and healthier environments.
By promoting knowledge, responsible practices and collaborative action, Clean Flow contributes to SDG 6 -- Clean Water and Sanitation while supporting broader goals related to health, education, livelihoods, environmental protection and community development.
