Climate Action
Climate Model is a youth- and community-led initiative of Sustainable Agenda Promotion (SAP 17) dedicated to building climate awareness, strengthening community resilience and encouraging practical action against climate change. It recognizes that climate change is not only an environmental issue -- it affects food systems, water resources, health, livelihoods, infrastructure, economies and the future opportunities of young people.
Across Africa, communities can experience climate-related pressures such as changing rainfall patterns, extreme heat, flooding, drought, land degradation and declining ecosystem health. Climate Model seeks to help people understand these challenges and participate in practical solutions that protect communities and the environment.
From Climate Awareness to Climate Action
Climate Model is designed to move beyond simply discussing climate change. It encourages people to understand the challenge, identify local risks and participate in practical solutions. Through educational campaigns, tree-growing activities, community projects, innovation challenges, research, partnerships and advocacy, participants can become active contributors to climate action.
Young people are particularly encouraged to see climate action as an opportunity for learning, leadership, research, innovation, entrepreneurship and community service.
Key Areas of Action
Climate Education
Making climate information understandable and relevant to everyday life. Participants learn about climate change, its causes and impacts, environmental responsibility, adaptation and the importance of collective action.
Tree Growing
Encouraging individuals, schools, communities and organizations to grow and care for trees and other vegetation. Tree-growing activities can contribute to greener communities, ecosystem restoration, biodiversity protection and environmental awareness.
Climate Advocacy
Giving young people and communities opportunities to raise awareness and advocate for responsible environmental practices and stronger climate action. Participants can engage through campaigns, discussions, educational activities and community initiatives.
Community Resilience
Helping communities understand climate-related risks and explore practical ways to prepare for and respond to them. This may include community awareness, environmental planning, sustainable livelihoods and local resilience initiatives.
Green Innovation
Encouraging young innovators, researchers and entrepreneurs to develop practical solutions to climate and environmental challenges. Ideas may address energy, agriculture, water, waste, mobility, construction and other areas affected by climate change.

Our Goal
Climate Model seeks to contribute to communities where people understand climate change, recognize local environmental risks and have opportunities to participate in building a more resilient and sustainable future.
By connecting climate education, environmental action, community resilience, advocacy and green innovation, the initiative contributes to SDG 13 -- Climate Action while supporting broader goals related to food security, water, health, sustainable livelihoods, biodiversity and environmental protection.
