Innovation Forum is a dynamic platform within Sustainable Agenda Promotion (SAP 17) designed to connect young innovators, researchers, entrepreneurs, technology enthusiasts and communities in developing practical solutions to Africa's development challenges. It promotes the idea that innovation should not exist only in laboratories, universities or technology companies -- it should respond to real problems and create meaningful improvements in people's lives.
Africa has a growing population of young, creative and technologically capable people. However, many promising ideas face challenges such as limited access to knowledge, technology, mentorship, research opportunities, funding, networks and practical platforms for development. Innovation Forum seeks to help bridge these gaps by creating opportunities for people to discover problems, develop ideas, test solutions and turn innovation into impact.
From Problems to Solutions
Innovation Forum is built around a practical principle: development challenges can become opportunities for innovation. Participants are encouraged to observe challenges within their communities, understand the people affected, investigate possible causes, generate ideas, develop prototypes or digital solutions, test them and learn from the results.
The platform can also encourage collaboration between innovators, researchers, universities, businesses, communities, technology organizations and development institutions, allowing different forms of knowledge and expertise to come together.
Key Areas of Action
Innovation Challenges
Creating challenges and collaborative activities that encourage participants to identify real community and development problems and develop creative solutions. Challenges may focus on areas such as agriculture, health, education, energy, water, environment, transportation, digital services and enterprise.
Research & Development
Encouraging young researchers, students, innovators and institutions to investigate development challenges, generate knowledge and explore technologies that can be adapted to African conditions.
Digital Solutions
Promoting the development and application of digital technologies to improve services, communication, education, commerce, community participation and access to information.
Technology Training
Providing opportunities for participants to develop practical technology and innovation skills through workshops, demonstrations, mentorship, learning activities and collaborative projects.
Social Enterprise
Helping innovators explore how useful solutions can become sustainable enterprises that generate both social value and economic opportunity. Participants are encouraged to think beyond creating inventions toward developing solutions that can be adopted, maintained and scaled.

Our Goal
Innovation Forum seeks to contribute to an Africa where young people and communities are not only consumers of technology but also creators, researchers, developers, entrepreneurs and problem-solvers.
By encouraging research, technological creativity, practical innovation and social enterprise, the initiative contributes to SDG 9 -- Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure while supporting broader development priorities such as employment, education, entrepreneurship, digital transformation and community resilience.
